A sneak-peek at the new A11, A12 and A13 models (and H10 splitter)

This is a sneak-peek as the announcement is for the Chinese market only. It is not an announcement for Europe and detailed specs may change. That one will come soon.
See https://www.post76.com/x2/thread-260115-1-1.html for the recent Beijing announcement.:)
Any volunteer to translate also the picture info attached? Interesting: A13 looks very much like my next physical model suggestion. All relevant information on the link is already included here, no need to go there after reading this.

All models have Dual HDMI and RS232 and the same CPU/GPU and memory specs 2 Gbyte RAM and 16 GByte flash. Maybe European models will get different specs here?
The A11 looks like an improved A10 with 2x USB on the front which probably replaces the A10. The A13 looks like a full stereo rack size equivalent with Dual Internal HDD bays. The A12 seems to have the same looks as A13 but with a single HDD bay. Seen the specs deduced I do expect all 3 models to run identical FW which will be marginally different only from A10/A5 just to cope with HW differences (e.g. Dual HDMI output).

What I am really missing is a Full Size SD-Card slot on the front for at least A12/A13. That slot gets a lot more value after moving to Android 7+ for deployment as optional additional Internal Storage!

What i did not find out if there is a power button or not behind the front panel?
For some it is convenient to have a standby button on the player itself (specifically to power it back on). Some brands combine the standby button with the button for Emergency Firmware Flashing, which is far more user-friendly than a tiny button behind a hole on the back for that purpose.

nice boxes! i reckon egreat will have more customers now...with all these boxes releasing very soon this is the time to really fix that HDR aspect ratio bug, and to seriously start working on Android 7 update. As these must be premium and work like premium !

Also a H10 is coming which is a HDMI splitter. Did not include that one yet in the sneak-peek, because of missing feature details. It will do Audio/Video HDMI splitting for sure but if it can be used for Dual combined Audio+Video output too?
So no need to replace your A5/A10 just for Dual HDMI as H10 will offer exactly the same as an add-on. Could it be that the same chip is used to realize Dual HDMI on these new players? Smart move Egreat :D

@nenito2k: I got the rumor that also Blu Ray players (discs) will be supported by Egreat. That is interesting for you specifically as basic playback for USB3 attached BD/DVD players works on Himedia Q10 Pro using Android 5 but not with Android 7 yet.

Well, typical half-finished products. Even the A10 is not shabby. But you have to buy it again. So the development of A10 will slow down. Well, doubt that it's worth it.

What are about Dolby Vision support?

I think it is pretty safe to answer that question despite nothing being announced by Egreat. DV support is a matter of SOC + FW + Licences and as such is identical for all existing plus the new models. The SOC should support DV and is not changed with the new models. So when it becomes available it will be for all models. Egreat already stated it is their intention to offer DV in a future FW when licensing is settled (which may depend on Android 7 availability for some mandatory security requirements).

Dolby Vision licensing are not give(yet) to digital media player, only digital blu-ray disk player or TV get it.
BTW Android 7 will show black screen on Dolby Vision demo clips with HiSilicon decoder.

So the minute new products are released the Egreat forum grinds to a stop and all Egreat forum administrators jump ship onto the next new product .

I doubt this very much. In the average organization new HW products and FW developments are handled by different persons. They also need the same FW enhancements to sell these new boxes.

So if you like this with the Egreat products, I probably will not buy more of this. Because there are still a lot of bugs in your device but the fixes are slowing down. This is not a good sign that they are taking the next thing out of the box and ignoring what they have been selling for only half a year.

I'm not sure if they are using the same SoC (couldn't even find 海思半導體 listed) as in the A10/A5 but Imprex 2.0 and A53 make it very likely. If that is the case your argument is completely wrong. Quite the opposite will be true. Everything the newer generation is getting will be available for the older generation as well as they are using the same SDK. This makes it super easy to maintain several devices at once. In addition it makes it more likely to fix current bugs as they want to expand their business.

Egreat have to change there name to not Great. We cant fix the problems on the a10 and a5 so we make 3 new boxes , like Himedia did on the Q5 and make a Q5 pro

Hisilicon MUST REALLY REALLY keep their promise and fix the HDR aspect issue (date is still early/mid july 2017 )and make Android 7 stable....now they have more units to get to market and their reputation is seriously at stake !

    Welcome @Sledgehamma :)
    I'm here @The Stoka , Also @Joe Joe

Firstly, thanks for all your attentions and supports. Sorry for the missing time. ;) But really too busy here.

    1. We won't stop A5/A10 firmware updating and bug fixing, even we release the new model A11.
    2. A11 won't effect A10, also they are totally two different levels products models.
    3. I track the bug list managed by @nenito2k (thanks for your working @nenito2k :)), this week, we will release the stable release firmware including poster 2.0 function and UHD full rip BD menu support. From Jul, we will solve other problems that we were pending in passed weeks.

Thanks for all your guys support, and our Egreat is always here. :)

For pricing the Egreat official announcement(s) needs to be waited for. I understand that the A11 announcement is eminent the others will follow later. Futeko mentions availability for H10 to be around mid/late July on their site.

OK there is A13 competition coming from Zidoo with the X20. I think A13 still needs a boost to match that one. There is time to do so as they say September which I translate to October or even November at the earliest knowing Zidoo planning. Then there is of course pricing?

Interesting to see the move to High End addressing a new type of customer. Obviously that one is very demanding also on FW stability.
