    Hello E_CS,

First, thanks for the link and your quick reply.

Second, regarding the speed, but maybe Egreat can upload directly also to this mega.nz, as I assume I am not the only one. And even when with JDownloader2 (3-4 faster) is still much slower than with mega_nz.

Then that green thing, it is that green doll (I guess logo of Android 5) you also are getting when you're updating Andropid 5 FW on Egreat. I hope you know what I mean.

As last, I now indeed got the update and have Android 7 now working. I do need to find time to check and try a Kodi in how and if it works. But the upgrade didn't wend as it was said. For I did as was describe (Force recovery) but nothing happend and screen kept black. After a while I just unplugged the Egreat and then put power in again and only then the update started. And now I then have the android 7.

But anyway thanks for your help.

    Regards,
    Hans

The Andoid 7 firmware is now correctly passing through the HDR infoframe (MaxFall/MaxCLL data).

good to know @mattmarsden this is a big plus and another advantage of android 7; it means that the HDR image is better than android 5

Yes and another PQ upgrade I noticed was that on certain dark scenes on H264 you could get shadow pixelation - this has now been fixed on Android 7. Unfortunately highbitrate Dolby Atmos (POTC dead men tell no tales, Maze Runner death cure) still crash it. Oh and 3D is still output at 24hz - I really wish they would get this one fixed!!

3D issue seems to be related to HIMEDIA soc, so egreat can't do anything ! still all this is good news...beta 3 should be out in a few days and will probably be stable enough for most :)

Do we think a working Vidon will be included?

That is the release that I am waiting for (with fingers crossed)

my personal view: i think vidon will be included, judged on past beta's stability....there is really nothing major left to fix in android 7. @Rita (that dissapeared from forums...) wifi, google play and vidon are the 3 things left to include to make it final.

I can confirm the DTS HD MA dropouts. I've only done some very brief testing but I had a repeatable dropout at around 40mins on Star Wars Episode 3 1:1 blu-ray remux to mkv.

Was that a particularly dense audio moment in the movie? As a 1:1 remux, that means that all audio tacks were included? How were you connected to the source material? (local hard drive, USB drive, network: smb/nfs/htps-Plex-Emby)?

I did see it reported elsewhere, but just curious if transfer rates have any weight in this issue. Thanks!

It was Yoda speaking so not a loud or dense moment. It was coming via smb but the repeatability suggests its not a network issue. The remux only contained the video and the 1 audio track

Thanks, just out of curiosity sake, is that using pass through audio to a receiver?

Yes passthrough for receiver to decode

Are your observations about picture quality with imprex engine turned on or off?

I've already mentioned the DTS audio dropouts for multiple files I've tried and they happen throughout the movie.

I haven't had any problems with atmos tracks though in mkv remux movies (The Matrix 4,420 kbps atmos track), but I'll run some more tests .
