According Wikipedia definition for Network Access Storage(NAS) and Egreat X6 specification can by operate as NAS, but Egreat X6 in intend to offered a Home Cloud Disk option witch will be very interesting in facts how will work for user outside of China.
Maybe "Home Cloud" is mean just attach storage disk will be available over http/https/ftp/sftp if need port are set correctly in router and simple web management?
"Cloud" is a trendy word on our days ;).

Haha ,thanks for sharing your understanding, E_CS, actually, Home means that this NAS storage device can be put at home, and you can operate or visit the contents anywhere in the APP by your phone. There will be a mobile APP with X6 device.

This is the reason why Android 7 and poster wall 3.0 delay. Player old bug haven't solved, all promises haven't done.
Do you all still believe on this little home cloud disc????

Looks interesting. I presume Apple, Windows and Android APP's are made available next to standard DLNA, SMB, NFS and FTP access offered by most NAS. Found an Android APP but none for Apple or Windows.
Curious what the APP is going to offer exactly?
NAS access (except DLNA) is a bit complicated for most smartphone users. DLNA in turn is not flexible enough as it has too many file-type and other restrictions.

Please keep terminology clean in the specifications. It is not Disk Format supported: NTFS, GPT and FAT obviously. NTFS is correctly a file-system, GPT is not as it is a way to Initialize a disk which next must be provided with a file-system like NTFS. So in fact you need both to make it work. FAT is a family of file-systems and presumably here is meant FAT32 not to be confused with exFAT or just FAT which mostly is used to indicate FAT16.
Even this surprises me as I would expect it to include RAID with typically an internal unique disk format (making those not plug&play anymore).

@Futeko Going be included in your sales?
What is the going price and where to buy it?

How will this compete with QNAP ASUS and Synology when they have mature systems with lots of apps for Android and Apple, community based software packages, cloud support and solid customer services?

Price is the only argument they have. It’s pretty low end hardware as they use a Marvell ARM A9 SoC. This is design is ancient.

If you look at the number of software updates Synology have to put out just to keep their system secure from viruses, worms and all the other kinds of security hacks I would be very wary of buying a NAS product from a company with very limited resources to support it, regardless of price.

Egreat may have had a taste of customers moaning about a few bugs playing back movies but it will be nothing compared to what happens if their NAS gets hacked or their data corrupted ....!

Security always needs to be a point of attention. Media Players are week too. Making them accesible from the outside is a risky thing. So is NAS.

You forget the main market being China and next Asia. The western market is most likely just a secondary target.

Hi All, X6 is not the same as NAS level, it is just a tool to work with Egreat player together, so it is no sence to compare the specification or functions with other device.

    1. Easy operation by Mobile APP anywhere anytime in the world
    2. The main functions are transmit and share functions
