Thanks guys, I really appreciate the helping hand(s)! I will become more self-sufficient and even swing the balance to answering/helping more than "asking" once I become more familiar with the Egreat/Android ecosystem. My background lies in Linux/Unix, mainly creating automation in PERL or Python (I created my own scraper and folder/meta data management for the Dune, back before they had one of their own). So this is all new to me, both Android, Kodi (and it;s variants), etc. Although I did run XBMC and was an active contributor (tester mainly) back when it actually ran on an XBox :).

For me it worked in Kodi 17.6 just adding the playercorefactory.xml I posted earlier. I have however not tried on the new version, as that means I have to downgrade from the beta one.
I will try to remove Kodi and install it from scratch just to confirm it's working.

Please let me know if that works and what step did you take to get it to work.
Also, are you using SMB; NFS or LOCAL DRIVE?

    Thanks!

I was using the emby plugin for Kodi, so it servers the files through http I think.

I am using a NAS network drive so my setting is base on SMB, do I have to make any changes in the playercorefactor.xml?

It should open files on SMB with the egreat player. But I haven't tested it yet.

Edit: I have tested and it doesn't want to open files on SMB for some reason. This might be a Kodi bug.
I also installed the Plex for Kodi plugin and playback using Egreat player also works there.

I just check the installation rarfile for A11 and there is no egreat player , i see Himedia player

Would that make a difference if the below line is change

    Code:
    <player name="Egreat" type="ExternalPlayer" audio="true" video="true">
                <filename>org.egreat.launcher</filename>

I don't think you have to change anything as the player name is just a visual name in Kodi. It's the filename that is the player.

You have to use Kodi 17.6 and either the emby plugin or plex plugin for this to work. Of course you need to have a emby or plex server also. This is on the Android 7 beta. I haven't had the time to downgrade to the new android 5 release yet to test.
You could also buy the XBMC wrapper that works without the need for emby or plex.

The playercorefactory.xml can work.( Just copy the xml to kodi usersdata)
    Here's my solution.
First, add NFS path in Egreat Home/ All Files.
*Egreat mount NFS path to its Root Filesystem(mnt/nfsShare/nfs_share0)* (o stands for zero )
Then Add video in KODI via Root Filesystem->mmt->nfsShare/nfs_share0
By this way, you actually add NFS in KODI.
Never add NFS directly in kodi, otherwise external player(Egreat player) won't work .
Now, you may play Egreat player in KODI.

    But there's some problem.
    1. Every time we turn on Egreat, we have to go to All Files->NFS path, so that Egreat can mount NFS to its Root Filesystem.
Otherwise, Egreat player in KODI shows error( cannot find the video).
    2. There's no option to choose whether play Main Movie or Navigation. Egreat just play Main Movie directly , no navigation option to choose.
Take "Uncle Drew " UHD for example, Egreat player play the longest movie(1hr:56min) while the right movie is 1hr:43min.
By playing the Navigation in Uncle Drew UHD, we can play the right movie.
If Egreat can add the option to choose whether Navigaton or Main movie.
    3. When we quit Egreat player in kodi, it doesn't lead to KODI , but to Egreat home.
Though it's a slight problem, it still leaves something to be desired.

Thanks for sharing this information. Does NFS work better than SMB? Or is NFS just the protocol you have available in your environment? Thanks!

Trust me NFS is much better than SMB
I had bad experience in Q10 pro playing UHD via SMB, but it did well after I replace SMB with NFS.
Especially when you play UHD via SMB , it stand a great chance to be buffering watching the movie.
    NFS get better transfer rate.

Quick question, my egreat remote is unable to control all the kodi function, what kind of setting are you guys using for remote with Kodi?

Good question -- I've noticed that using Kodi as well. I can't figure out how to do a few things using the remote with Kodi. I'm not sure if you need an air mouse or what but certain things don't work.
I go back to Vidon which works flawlessly with the remote we got on the A10. Hopefully someone with more knowledge than I will answer for us :)

Try KODI->System Settings->Input->Uncheck "Enable mouse and touch screen support"->Configure attached controllers->
press X button -> then press Option button on your remote
press Y button-> then press Option button on your remote
(I'm not sure whether X or Y is correct, just do both of them)
press Back button -> then press Back button on your remote

    Hope this helps you.
