I've tested it yesterday evening and first thing noticed you can't select the 4k uhd 60hrz resolution and for now by that it's useless !!!:(:(

    Why not ?

    • Well with an LG E6 Oled you need to select the 4k 60hz resolution otherwise zero hdr and therefore useless for me .

    Hello,
I wanted to ask a question to the specialists who work on the software of the Egreat. If I select the video mode at 4K 50 or 60 Hz from the "A10 media player" settings, the Bluray in 4K UHD is correctly seen, but the problem is that when I go to a Bluray movie but 1080p (24Hz) native, on the TV is always displayed in 4K (2160p), creating a very arched artwork sometimes grainy. If the Egreat A10 is set in 1080p 50 or 60 Hz, the 4K movies are seen at 1080p, losing high native quality, and the Bluray 1080p movies are seen correctly and well defined. To point that my TV is a latest generation Sony Led 65 "4K (60HZ). Finally, also note that after selecting the 4K 50 or 60 Hz display mode from the media player A10 settings, after switching off, even from the remote control, the display mode switches itself back to 1080p 50Hz when it is switched on.
Did you give me some help tips?
    Thank you. Greetings

There is no solution for the problem , Ross. They haven't figure it out yet, but that might could easily change into (n)ever.

    I hope I'm fine.
In summary; if I set the media player (A9) in 4K, the 4K movies look good to me (2160p) but when I go to bluray in 1080p, with that setting described above, the movies are always seen in 2160p, media player does a "scaler" which in my opinion damages the image quality. It's difficult to see!
Conversely, if I set the 1080p media player, the bluray at 1080p I see very well, in their native resolution, instead, if I start movies in 4K, I do not see them at 2160p (4K) but at 1080p.
One last thing, I repeat that the A9 does not store the 4K video setting, but when it turns off it returns to 1080p, at least in my Sony 4K TV.

Basically, in my humble opinion, if I may suggest to programmers, it would take a "AUTO", so that if you start a bluray 1080p movie I start properly to 1080p, but if I send running a 4K movie, I it starts regularly for how it should be at 2160p.
I did not specify the Hz (24Hz, 50Hz, 60Hz etc ..) because this is not the problem.
    I'm waiting for a solution.
    Thank you.
    Greetings to everyone

Auto is not the right term as this usually refers to auto negotiation between the player and the TV so that you get a picture for sure (usually it sets it to the highest resolution the TV can handle).
What you want is a source direct/native output. I'd like that, too. But realistically, this is a very rare option even for high end (UHD) BD players. The Oppo 203 is able to do so, so are the Popcorn Hour A-500 series (including VTEN) as well as Dune's 4K range.
This option is also rather difficult to explain due to the fact that there are many more resolutions than 1080p and 2160p with various framerates and not every framerate is supported for every resolution. In that case you need to decide what's more important: native framerate upscaled to the nearest resolution supported by that framerate or native resolution output with incorrect framerate so that the video is not played back smoothly.

auto switch for resolution is a problem in android itself. the system can't go from 1080 to 4k automatically !
at least in android 5 and 6 !

If anyone from the company is reading the forum messages.....

I have tried to download this firmware several times to a USB stick and also tried to upgrade OTA but it fails.
Not been able to get beyond 29% downloaded before failure.
Can somebody please check for me?
    Thank you.

Good news , I finally could install the OTA update after several failure's but only after the log changed suddenly in Chinese it worked much smoother.
This 1256 works much better then the first one i downloaded , it looks more stable and no dropout's of the player. :) Hands on .

For me OTA did not work at all even with many retries. It starts just fine but ends with a failure at various points.
A second problem with OTA is that one might miss the actual message that it failed and may keep waiting for ages as a consequence as this message does not stay on screen.

Firmware 1256 is not stable !! The box did a mass dropouts after a couple of files. Start to boot up after the fail. So i went back to 1.2.3.9 which seems more reliable.
I skipp this one and wait till they sort out this big mess:mad::(

    Thank you for the warning.
I've still not been able to download the firmware and get failures at diferent points every time I t

Egreat need to sort out their crappy server and useless OTA function as both are unfit for purpose IMHO.

If you already can't upgrade on ota or usb something is definitely wrong , it seemed rushed too much, pressure of releasing something then nothing...
