I had it on a lower resolution because at the time I didn't have a 4k television, LOL. But then I got one so I decided to turn it up to 4k and now it takes quite some time to boot up. While it's annoying, at least it does boot up. At first I thought it was just hanging, which would be worse. So I just turn it on before I want to use it and then just wait.

I have mine constantly on 4k 60 Hz 10Bit and have never experienced this, just the occasional drop back to a lower resolution, usually after playing music such as BDA / DVDA folders / iso's

I've gone back to 1.2.9.0 the last two updates are complete rubbish you should be ashamed of yourselves. Ten minutes to come on. lockups and having to re boot, recently it's been coming on in the wrong aspect ratio and having to be re set every time. Concentrate on making the player work perfectly, everything else is not as important. If the player at least worked correctly it wouldn't feel like a complete rip off for the ridiculous price that it was for us all to be beta testers while you stash the loot.

This is a long time known problem. The player automatically switches back to 8-bit when playing a regular BD with Menu. Without menu it oes not happen. One needs to enforce 10-bit then again. It is driving a friend of mine crazy, making him look for an alternative.
Not a HW related problem as my Dinobot does not have that problem. Added it to my review.

Also looked at DSD playback using Music Player 2.0, but it frankly disappointed me:
    - No SACD ISO recognition.
    - DSF/DFF only played when 'Audio source output" is unselected. Hence only will play using the standard Android driver at 48 kHz.
    - DSF/DFF Multi-Channel won't play at all.
Honestly this is not what I call DSD support but OK it starts to do something!

The player also still plays CD's converted to MP3/FLAC at 48 kHz and not 44.1 as it should do.
When entering a folder with FLAC or DSD then it may take up to 10 sec to display that folder.

My findingstoo on my A11, thanks to your directions. That said I get no boot up delays and no pauses before displaying folders. I'm playing my DSD files via a memory stick plugged directly into my amp, again Multi-Channel will not play. I'm ok at the moment though and will stick with this media player until something significantly better comes on the market. Thanks again for keeping things up to date.

Used to do that too with my Onkyo TX-RZ720 which worked just fine. It has a decent AKM AK4458 DAC built-in but plays in a different league.

Not such a big problem for me as I mostly skip the BD menu's which does not switch 10-bit back. Only use Menus for episodes, audio-BD and multiple cut version BD's.

With my media player collection I can compare Hisillicon and Realtek, RTD1295 and RTD1296 and for both SOC's Android 5, 6 and 7 . Can even run a Beta Android TV 8 on my Dinobot U5 Mini which has the same Hisillicon SOC as Egreat (Android TV 7 on it is very stable).

Thus far can't say Dune FW is really superior to Zidoo's (both realtek SOC) but for sure costs a arm and a leg more.

I must say differences in average PQ are minimal and subjective like hell. These SOC's are all good platforms in that aspect.

If you want to run KODI then the Android OS version is more important.
