I see, the Hisilicon chipset can do HDR10, but you say A10&A5 has Dolby vision, Do A10 & A5 have the Dolby vison license?

Himedia Q5pro / Q10pro have not Dolby vision under Chipset Hisilicon Hi3798cv200, so why do you say A5&A10 can do Dolby vison

Hello Egreat A5 and A10 can support Dolby vision, Egreat is one membership of Dolby, and also is membership of DTS. There is no doubt that A5 and A10 really support Dolby vision.

Actually Dolby only opened this license to TV and part of Blu-ray disc player at this moment. For "media player" where our A5/A10 stand in, a grapevine that Dolby was establishing the specific standard now.
Of course A5/A10 support Dolby Vision no problem, but need them to open license for our area first.
In addition to that, yes we are membership of Dolby and DTS earlier in China.:)

So, is there any indication of time when the licence for Dolby Vision will be agreed?

@Caesarea in case you have not heard...DV UHD movies will be out in june and july ! so nothing will happen before septembre on the egreat...
DV has been around for over a year on TV's and it is only now that we see UHD disks....

Just a reminder for the many "ignorant people" about DV support on the egreat Soc:

This agreement has been since 2015.

My LG OLED has have DV support since its release in 2016.

So, why should Egreat wait till releases of DV content on discs?

Please think a little..egreat is not the one waiting! Dolby is not giving the licences to media players!!! @Dennis already explained that! Dolby gives priority to tv and uhd players and disks!!! Logically..
    Do you understand now?

Sorry, maybe I am not as smart as you... Why so hostile? Please be professional with your way of communication. I want to discuss and want to learn from everybody on this forum, even from you after your last reply with "please think" and "Do you understand now?"

You could write without exclamation points: "Maybe you missed it (see earlier reply of Dennis in another thread), but egreat is not the one waiting. Dolby is not giving the licences to media players. Dolby gives priority to tv and uhd players and disks. I hope this is more clear to you."

If I see a Dolby Vision Logo on a product than I expect the support of Dolby Vision within this specific product soon or later. With this I want to close our discussion to prevent any spoil on this thread.

well that is how i communicate @Caesarea ....i just wanted to make things clear.
anyway egreat does not have a dolby vision logo anywhere (to my knowledge...) so...

So, Egreat put DOLBY VISION on the front of A10 for fun? Or don't you have this on your A10 as the picture I send earlier. Can you make this clear to the members/owners?

By the way, professionality is also communicating in a way without insulting somebody. And if you communicate only your way in a setting like this forum without adapting in a positive way, I think this is not a good development. I am sorry, I shouldn't say anything about this disscussion as I mentioned before.

Hi, both of you are correct actually! It is our Egreat's mistake to put the "Dolby Vision" mark on A10 too early at the first version molding, at that time we were negotiating with Dolby and seems they will release, however in the end they DID NOT. But the first lot of products were sold to fans. We deleted the "Dolby Vision" mark on A10 in 2nd lot production. Caesarea, sorry for misled you that way! We will update if any progress in future on this!

I really really hope egreat will get the promised dolby vision ! This will be a great plus compared to all Android boxes...and was one of the reasons i got the box. Other reason was vidon integration and promise of lifetime updates..
DV+ vidon 18+ Nougat update= very happy customers

I understand this completely, but there were two reasons why I bought the A10: Bluray menu and Dolby Vision support.

It is just hoping that Dolby give license.

Are there any more updates if Dolby vision is licensed , i am about to buy one on Amazon and the photo is showing the Dolby vision logo. There are now Dolby vision 4k uhd blu rays out ( and possible rips soon )
So would like an update if possible. ( one of the reasons i would buy this also blu ray menu support and DV support)
