I have only just bought the A11 and now find I can’t play a substantial number of my movies!!

I didn’t spot this earlier as it does not appear to have received much attention.

I am on the latest firmware.

Can Egreat please comment on when this problem with VC-1 mkv files will be fixed

    Many Thanks

if you have read BEFORE buying A11 you would have known about this issue..that we are all aware of since months...

Thanks for your reply and of couse you are correct in your assertion.

It doesn’t change the fact that the unit is not performing to the manufacturers specification.

I am well aware that a bug free player does not exist, I was just seeking an assurance that it was being looked at.

"Imminent"? Pray tell, what makes you think that an Android 7 update is "imminent"? There has no been even a murmur or acknowledgement of any Android 7 update by Egreat for months now. They have been asked directly on several occasions and they have chosen to maintain a total silence in the matter.

PS: for a while it seems Egreat was interested in resolving issues with the A10/A11, but now it seems they have abandoned any fixes, let alone any further development for these products. Egreat's silence in this matter is utterly shameful.

The last official word is that the first beta will be out in July 2018. Look in the Android 7 thread for Rita’s statement.

It has taken far longer than anticipted... but to be fair many other small companies have struggled to launch Android 7 and those that have are certainly not bug free.
The stand out point for Egreat is that they probably have the best and smoothest picture quality of all the media players. It is not worth jeopardising this position by releasing Android 7 before it is ready as any benifits are only going to be fairly moderate.
